Sams Go Local

It's an OK convenience store. They have a decent amount of household essentials and all the usual crisps, sweets and cold drinks. They also have some overseas items, Romanian sweets, etc. They do not sell alcohol. Card payment is available but depending on who serves you, the minimum payment is sometimes £5 whereas sometimes there is no minimum payment! The main reasons for the 2 star rating are.... Firstly, they don't check their stock for sell by dates. This is my local shop and I usually have to call in for something once a week or more. I have seen so many items on the shelves that are months passed their sell by date. They put the in-date stuff to the back, in the hopes that you'll buy that rusty can of beans at the front, that is a year out of date. It's horrendous! Secondly, the staff are super rude and ignorant. They never smile or say hello. One of the guys is always on his phone and never stops talking to serve you, he'll just bark the price at you and hold his hand out for payment. If you ask to pay by card you often get huffs and rolled eyes. It's almost like they hate you for buying something. I wouldn't come here if I didn't have to. In fact I often drive to the Tesco rather than subject myself to the sort of customer service you will get from this store! But if you just want some sugar or a bottle of pop, then it's sufficient enough, just don't expect a smile or any manners!

Its a good local shop with many items to chose from and at reasonable prices.
