If you are thinking of learning Olympic weightlifting, this is a great place to start. We have group training sessions 3 times per week, where the coaches will write you a full training plan, follow your progress over time and help you improve your technique. You can also do an introductory course if you are new to the sport. The atmosphere is very friendly and non-intimidating and members of the club vary greatly by age and lifting experience. The only drawback is the lack of jerk blocks and it gets a bit crowded sometimes, but I know there are plans for expansion very soon. It is also very affordable, so I would definitely recommend it.

I am from the Netherlands (Dutch National Champion 2017; -90 weight class) and was staying in Sheffield for work for a while. The club was very welcoming and really tried to help me feel at home in Sheffield. Love the dedication, passion for the sport and excellent coaching! Technically the lifting is also at a very decent level and there are also enough opportunities for new lifters to learn the trade. Would definitely recommend this club to any lifter out there. Really liked the socials too, basically found a surrogate family abroad ;-)

Hallam Barbell offers a fantastic development pathway for young aspiring athletes. The coaches are true technical experts in their field but still make the sessions fun and engaging.
