Arthur Caygill began repairing bicycles in 1983, in a leaky old shed on Gallowfields Trading Estate in Richmond, North Yorkshire. As his reputation for quality workmanship and reliability increased so did trade and it wasn't long before he could move into the much drier surroundings that are our present home on the same estate. We quickly began selling components and bicycles supplied by other manufacturers. Continued success enabled us to extend the showroom and build our workshops from where - in 1989 - we were able to produce our very own Caygill frames. As bicycle technology has developed so have our production capabilities and we can now produce made-to-measure frames in any configuration from steels, aluminium or carbon-fibre. In fact we've become so good at building frames that riders such as Kevin Dawson, Yvonne McGregor, Julian Ramsbottom, Jill Reames and Anne Plant have all won top honours on Caygill machines. I cannot express how grateful I am for the amazing service provided today. I enquired about help with parts for a bike in time for Christmas and Lee and Steve went out of their way to help me with what I needed. Great on the phone, and via email. Visited the shop and they checked the part fitted and even fitted to the bike for me Top class True definition of amazing customer service you don’t get elsewhere Really appreciated and will highly recommend
Big thanks to Scott and his team at Arthur Caygill Cycles for sorting my bike quickly after a crash. I really appreciated the help, thorough checking and quick turnaround getting it back on the road, ready to rock and roll for this evening's Shop ride. It’s fantastic to have such a well-stocked shop on my doorstep for new bikes, parts and servicing - and one day soon a gravel bike - and the service is always friendly; knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff in this long established family business made choosing a new electric bike a pleasure. My requirements were discussed and fully understood meaning I now have an ebike that fulfills all my needs, at a reasonable price, and less than my internet researching had led me to expect!! Well done and thanks for your professional approach.
I have just bought another bike from Caygill's because they offer a first class service They advised on the best replacement as my previous one had been written off by a car driver. Not only taking time to listen to what my needs were but also offering the right one at a very good price. When I went to collect it Scott also took the time to do some final adjustments so it fitted me perfectly. You may find a cheap bike online but you don't get someone who knows all about bikes making sure you get the right one. If you have any problems later, online can mean on your own, with Arthur Caygill they are there ready and willing to help. Thank you so much for fitting inner tubes to my Mums wheel chair, the whole experience was brilliant, years ago I could have done it myself with having 3 kids. Yet not so much now. So once again thanks xx
