Chop Gate Village Hall

Lovely little car park in the village of Chop Gate in Bilsdale. Unfortunately there is no toilet but plenty of spaces to park. Easy way to get up on to Bilsdale Moor and the surrounding area. You can then take the paths either to the transmitting station or head over to Hawnby. Great area to explore at any time of the year.

Terrible experience do not use. Parked here to go on a hike and paid the parking thinking nothing of it. Nearly 20 days later I received a notification from my bank saying that a charge has accrued for £6 under the reference international payment. Panicked that my card had been skimmed I proceeded to cancel my card and go through a lengthy fraud department case with my bank. During this time the reference changed from international payment to something else. Don't use the carpark.

An attractive and architecturally pleasing community facility for the small community of Chop Gate in Bilsdale, North Yorkshite, Moors, National Park.

Ideal place to park up and set off on one of many hill walking paths, there was also a number of horse back trekkers leaving for a day ride when we left. The car park is free but a donation in the box provided helps keep the free toilets in soap and hot water. I don't know anywhere else that has free toilets with hot water. Please look after these facilities it would be a shame if they get closed down. Many thanks to the village and NYM.

Excellent place to park up when visiting the area for outdoor activities. Very reasonable on price as well at only £2 for the day. Toilets on site as well, which is very good, also given the location they were very clean.
