BEWARE! I purchased a 2024 Mercedes GLE 450d from Riviera for £66,000. After paying additional on top of this for it to be delivered due to me living a 4hr drive away, I was generally happy with the car when it arrived. The spare wheel inflater beneath the boot had burst into its holder (which is very messy!) and the centre armrest leather has a small tear in the side - which Riviera were very unhelpful about, but I reluctantly accepted that. After 2 months of owning the car though, we found the GLE uncomfortable on B roads so spoke with Riviera about part-exchanging for another vehicle. I had to settle for a part exchange price £7,000 less than I bought it for 2 months ago. No big problem though, didn't complain, it was my decision and I accepted it. So I part exchange that GLE (still for sale on their website) and bought a 2024 Audi SQ8 from them for £69,000. Very low milage again and had been told that the car was showroom condition. Warning signs on the way home when the tyre warning light came on and I had to pull over to adjust all trye pressures. Riviera's garage had inflated them to 49psi! I then found at higher speeds, the wind came bellowing through the passenger side window. And towards the end of the journey home a warning light came on to say rear passenger door child lock faulty. On later inspection, that door also rattled when open and closed. With 3 major faults all down the same side of the car, it seemed a very high probability that the car had suffered significant historical damage down that side. Riviera accepted the car back on that occasion after a couple of weeks, although charged (ME!) £1500 for the privilege. Not sure why I had to pay to cover their admin, or whatever, on a faulty car but I couldn't be bothered to argue, I was just pleased to be getting out of a troublesome car that could get worse. Lastly, just 2 months ago, I part exchanged that Audi SQ8 with Riviera and purchased a 2023 Range Rover Autobiography for £82,500. Within the first week, I had the drivers side deployable side not coming out properly and came back in before coming fully out as it should. (strangely this function was turned off at Riviera when I purchased the car...?) Both me and my young daughter have made the mistake of stepping onto it as it is retracting and it is very uncomfortable. It is lucky neither of us snapped our ankles. That problem continues on an ad hoc basis. Then there is the engine management light, which came on once, but that is linked to a warning triangle that comes on and tells the driver that the vehicle has reduced performance (limp mode to you and me). This has come on around 12 times since I bought the vehicle. Now the indicators on the dashboard flash really quickly for no apparent reason - very annoying. This is on top of a noisy winding mechanism for the sunroof blind and rear centre armrest that has a broken latch. I made Riviera aware of this straight away. The warning lights on the dashboard more worrying of maybe a more serious problem. Two people have already left the business since I have been dealing with them. Their responses have been less than helpful, almost sarcastic at times. I have looked to negotiate and compromise to try and get out of the run of faulty vehicles that they have sold me - but to no avail. They simply hide behind loosely worded contracts/ consumer rights and either offer to part exchange the vehicle (For £7,500 less than I bought it for (again) not a bad business model if you can work it!). Or... they have offered for me to drive 8hrs there and back to drop off the vehicle, 8hrs there and back to collect the vehicle, offering me a 14 year old VW as a courtesy. This is assuming they can fix it of course. I personally have no faith that their garage would be able to permanently fix these problems given that it is the same garage that has prepared the faulty cars for sale to me up to this point. I am now suing Riviera through our solicitors.

I like to add context to a review, I am not a keyboard warrior and I am not looking for something for nothing and I speak as I find. I have purchased over 80 cars in my life and worked in customer service at all levels within the public and private sectors and In am also a Seasoned reviewer. I dealt with Jon, his customer service attention to detail and focus was some of the best I have experienced, a wonderful car to boot. I cannot praise Jon and the team too highly. At the end of the day you pays your money and takes your choice. in my view a fabulous 5 star experience - Thanks John
