About Newlands Farm Holiday Cottages
Description
Newlands holiday cottages are located between the glorious Spa town of Scarborough with its famous castle and the historic fishing town of Whitby with its gothic Abbey. They are located on the picturesque Yorkshire coast within the north Yorkshire moors national Park.
Our cottages boast a central location to both towns and are close to Robin Hoods Bay, Grosmont, Goathland, Pickering, Thorton-le-Dale, Filey, Flamborough Head, Bempton Cliffs and Dalby Forest.
Newlands Farm was purchased at the end of 2014 off the Duchy of Lancaster. The cottages have been refurbished to a very high standard retaining original features of the barn creating a homely welcoming atmosphere. They offer Hot Tub, locked shed for bicycle storage, free wi fi and a sunny secluded court yard and garden.
We offer romantic breaks for birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations please contact us for further details.
Newlands farm and holiday cottages previously formed part of the Duchy of Lancaster Cloughton Estate. This is a historic portfolio of land that was founded in the 13th century and held in trust for her majesty the Queen. The present Newlands farm house was built in 1778 although the barn was converted into 3 holiday cottages in 2008. They have seen major refurbishment at the beginning of 2015.
They have been furnished and equipped with great attention to detail. Rose, Fern and Lavender cottage offer a charming base with the use of the hot tub and views over glorious countryside towards the sea and to Scarborough.
Set amongst rolling hills the pretty village of Cloughton has 2 good local Inns. One is located at the bottom of the drive. Both welcome pets and children and serve excellent food too. The second pub is located on the Wyke walk and makes for an enjoyable day out where lunch can be enjoyed half way round giving a welcome break. The walk gives you the opportunity to relax and appreciate the local scenery on the Cinder track and the Cleveland way.
The cottages are colour coordinated to their names. Rose in shades of crimson, Fern in fresh greens and white then lavender with accents of Lavender.
The cottages form a diversification of a working farm that is based in Ruswarp on the edge of Whitby. The farm has a dairy unit at Ruswarp and rear Aberdeen Angus cattle for the British food market. Our milk is purchased by Arla foods and the cattle are supplied to Dovecote Park.
