Called in for Lunch Friday lunchtime. Hadn’t booked ahead but had a perfect table for 4 available under the window. A friendly welcome and drinks order taken promptly. A straightforward menu with plenty of choice. We ordered: Scampi and Chips, Steak and Ale Pie with Chips, Roast Beef Sandwich with Fries and I ordered Liver and Onions with Buttery mashed potatoes. The place was starting to get busy with people dropping in for Lunch but we didn’t have to wait too long for our food to arrive. Each dish came with vegetables or salad and the Steak Pie and Liver and Onions came with a delicious Ox gravy.
Really surprised by this place, thought it would be just a typical brew pub, popped in on the off chance for lunch, all tables were reserved but they fitted us in and I'm glad they did. We both had the beef Yorkshire pudding skillet and it was very good and very generous, so much meat and very tasty. We visit Howarth every Christmas and we will be booking in advance next time. Oh and good beer choices 😁
Went here for lunch today with my Mum and Dad. Great location in the heart of Haworth town centre with friendly and professional service and lovely food (I had the braised steak). Highly recommended! :)
Jill (my wife) and I have walked past this place on a number of occasions. We are generally not very impressed with places to eat; Jill is such a great cook that we'd rather eat at home. Anyway, we caught the bus to Howarth today and we poked our noses in here, wanting a drink from the cold outside. The place was heaving and we were lucky that a couple allowed us to sit at the end of their table. I only enjoy dark beer and my stout was just the right temperature and very tasty; Jill's pinot grigio was just as good. We loved the cosy atmosphere and the place seemed so clean and well run that I asked a member of staff if it would be possible to have a table at any time. She disappeared saying that she'd find out and let us know. She came back, having sorted out a table for us (just after Christmas, at a very busy time of year). We were shown to a table and looked after by the most attentive staff I can imagine. Jill had belly pork and I had Mullen (sic) skink, with a side of skinny fries. Oh my goodness! Just wow, wow, wow! We really enjoy lovely food but rarely find it. I told the lady who served us (the owner, I think) that it was as good as any I had tasted in Scotland; she told me that she had spent many years living in Scotland. The beer, the wine, the whisky and the food is outstanding, and without any doubt, the way you are treated and served is just heart warming. We will be going back, the place is superb! Well done to all of you at Howarth Steam Brewing Co.
Great place for a drink or two, staff very friendly Plenty of local beers to choose from plus gins and wines Even though we were staying local and didn’t need to drive a massive well done for a good selection of alcohol free drinks which were well noted on the bar
