The food is so bad! We went to sword dancer just over a year ago and the food was awful but we thought it was a bad night so we tried again last week but no… firstly my partner ordered an all day breakfast which was just pathetic it had everything but he’s never been given a breakfast portion to poor. Secondly my food wasn’t even edible, I had the hunters chicken and the chicken was like plastic and stringy. We did complain about the chicken and the waiter even said it’s all pre cooked microwaved food and apologised and asked if I wanted a new one. I was put off eating the food so said no so he then asked if we wanted a free dessert which was really nice of him. The staff was nice it’s just the food. I’ve spoken to a few people and they’ve said sword dancer is the worst for food! Don’t waste your money.

Nice food at good prices! Staff are welcoming and the pub has a great atmosphere. I ordered on the app and the food and drinks arrived quickly despite it being a busy lunch time. Well worth a visit. I would recommend the Chicken strips. Generous portion, good value, great flavour and crunch!

We’ve come to this establishment many times and have enjoyed the food and the fact it is dog friendly. However our most recent time visiting we were met with unnecessary rudeness. I went to the bar to order drinks for my grandparents, partner & dad for my grandads birthday. I was asked to present my ID which is fair enough as I know it is policy so I presented my id. Once I had sat down with my family we were minding our business, my dog sat calmly, we were having polite conversation when a blonde waitress with glasses came up abruptly and asked to see my partners ID. So I presumed she thought he was drinking alcohol so I said ‘he’s drinking black current and lemonade you can check with the bar man & he is 25’ she said ‘no if he hasn’t got a is he won’t be able to sit in this area’ the management that was in one that day then came over and reaffirmed what she said and said we could move to a table just around the corner, to which we tried to put to them we’ve come previously with no issues but we begrudgingly agreed. He then mentioned that it was a high up table which wasn’t suitable as my grandma has got knee problems so then after considering putting us outside (I overheard him saying this, and please bare in mind my grandparents are in there 80’s!) we were then put in the no dog section which in my opinion is worse as if I was a customer I would be more displeased at there being a dog in my section than a man in a adult section quietly playing on his phone, not drinking. We are most displeased at this service and can’t fathom why we were okay to sit around the corner but not where we had sat and also why it hasn’t been a problem before. I even had a picture on my phone of his Passport. It’s ridiculous and really disappointing. Because of this situation nobody apart from my grandad who had looked forward to his birthday meal ordered anything for food due to feeling uncomfortable that they might do something to the food. You lost 4 people’s worth of meals and regular customers.

Come here quite often for some food, nice pub, nice staff and good value food although the chefs can never cook a steak right, I ordered a medium rare steak and it came out well done, I still ate it as I didn't have time to send it back for a new one plus nobody came to check on us anyway until the plates were empty. Left disappointed.
