The award-winning Yorkshire Wildlife Park has recently made headlines by passing on the full value-added tax (VAT) reduction to its visitors, thanks to the Great British Savings Scheme. This initiative is designed to make family outings more affordable during the summer holiday period.

VAT Reduction Details

The government has reduced the VAT on admissions to visitor attractions from 20% to just 5%. This change is effective from June 25 and will last until September 1. It applies not only to entry tickets but also to other activities within the park, including:

  • Uproar! Playbarn admission

  • Children's meals in the park's restaurants

  • Children's concert tickets

CEO John Minion expressed his enthusiasm about this initiative, stating:

"This is very welcome news. Despite facing cash pressures ourselves, I can confirm that we are passing on the full VAT reduction to visitors."

"We look forward to more families being able to create amazing summer memories at the park."

The park is expecting one of its busiest summers yet, with plenty of activities lined up for families.

Additional Savings for Families

As part of the Great British Savings Scheme, families can also benefit from free bus travel for children aged five to 15 on local bus services in England throughout August. This initiative is designed to help families save even more on their summer days out. Visitors to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park can easily travel there using the First Bus South Yorkshire 357 service, which operates directly from Doncaster Interchange to the park's front gates. This bus service runs every hour, seven days a week, making it a convenient and cost-effective option for families.

A Unique Experience at the Park

Yorkshire Wildlife Park is not just about savings; it offers a truly unique experience for visitors. The park is dedicated to conservation and provides a walk-through experience that allows guests to get up close with some of the world's most beautiful and endangered species. Visitors can see:

  • Polar Bears

  • Black Rhinos

  • Giraffes

  • African Painted Dogs

This immersive experience is designed to educate and inspire visitors about wildlife conservation while providing a fun day out for families.

More Than Just a Wildlife Park

In addition to its animal attractions, Yorkshire Wildlife Park features the Hex Wildlife Hotel and The Yorkshire Hive, which is a shopping, dining, and entertainment village. This means that there is plenty to do and see, making it an ideal destination for a full day of family fun. Visitors can enjoy meals, shop for souvenirs, and relax after exploring the park.

As families plan their summer outings, the full VAT reduction at Yorkshire Wildlife Park is an exciting opportunity to enjoy a day filled with adventure and learning. The park's commitment to conservation and community engagement ensures that every visit is not only enjoyable but also meaningful.
