Peaceful and full of history a lovely place to visit family. The chapel is definitely worth visiting. Well set out. Hilly but still areas that are accessible and plenty of seating. Local people have alot of knowledge and history of the cemetery and are pleasant and welcoming. A place i hope to visit again well kept and beautiful tended graves and cremation area. Even if you have no loved ones here I would definitely recommend a visit to the past community of Batley and afar quite a mix of once affluent families and not so affluent families all now at rest in one place
A pretty good cemetery if you’re looking for bigger tombstones, me and my partner are always on the hunt for more of an unusual graveyard so not really our vibe and we left a little disappointed. However the place is pretty and we even picked up a voice on the video we had taken of the graveyard!
Nice cemetery. Not the best if you’re looking for unusual graves like we are. Me and my partner tour the UK for usual gravestones and this disappointed us unfortunately however saying that it’s a great cemetery for someone who wants to hear EVPs from ghosts here as it’s haunted!
Lovely graveyard with great views and a stunning twin chapel at the entrance.
Cemetery kept in good order, but the council recently stopped locking the gates on a night due to budget cuts - lots of cars going in there very late on and driving around in the dark with no clear purpose. Council need to sort out a solution as it's becoming a drug-dealing hot spot.
