Butlers tea room is adjacent to Cursworth Hall museum and beautiful grounds; and is in the former stables of Cursworth Hall. Not wheelchair accessible, but those who can get out from there wheelchair can go to the back door to go to the table and fold their wheelchair. The lady of the tea room is friendly and with her staff has great customer service. I went with my partner and daughter. Ordered a veggie breakfast, breakfast and scrambled egg on toast. A Cappuccino, breakfast tea and an orange juice came to just over £33 which is reasonable. Beautiful decorated with Christmas decorations. Very clean and tables. Disabled parking is free with blue badge, otherwise a charge for parking. Will put pic of charges. I would definitely visit again when visiting Doncaster.
This Tea Room was quite busy when I visited; it was a very warm day so there were lots of customers sitting outside enjoying the sunshine. I chose to sit inside. I enquired about gluten free options; the owner indicated to several cake/tray bakes however these were in with other cakes, not labelled gluten free and did not have separate serving utensils. I am not coeliac but avoid gluten. I ordered a tuna mayo jacket which was very tasty but looked ridiculous on an oversized plate with a small amount of salad. The pot of tea was good.
“Great little tea room — lovely coffee, friendly staff (especially Molly and Lynn, and cakes so good they could bring world peace. Proper hidden gem. But some people will STILL moan, because they treat every meal out like they’re judging the finals of The Great British Menu. You’ll get reviews like: ‘My scone was slightly too scone-like’ or ‘My tea wasn’t spiritually transformative’. Some folks stomp in acting like Cusworth is the culinary capital of Europe. Calm down, Nigella — you’re eating a sandwich, not discovering the meaning of life. They complain the food’s too small, too big, too warm, too cold… honestly, if these people were handed a perfect meal by angels, they’d still moan the halo light was too bright. If your toast or your teacake triggered you, maybe the problem isn’t the cafe — maybe it’s your personality. Have your Earl Grey, breathe, and stop pretending you’re a food critic with trauma.”
An exceptional little café in Cusworth. It wasn't too busy when we visited so the food didn't take too long to arrive. The salad and sausage sandwich were £8.50 each and tasted delicious, highly recommend!
We had a beautiful lunch at this tea room today. I had quiche with new potatoes, salad and coleslaw. My husband had cottage pie with peas. We had to wait a little while as it is cooked to order but well worth waiting for and it arrived piping hot. We ate in The Dog House as we had our dogs with us. We've had tea and cake there before but not had a meal but we'll certainly have a meal there again. A lovely walk round the lake and reasonably priced parking all added to a lovely afternoon out.
