Enjoyed a family meal just before the new year. Service, food and overall experience was excellent and I would highly recommend.
We had a family meal here recently and the food was delicious. I have Coeliac disease and saw on the menu that many dishes were gluten free. I checked with the waitress and she said however that the chips and wedges weren't gluten free as everything was fried in the same fryer, however the rice side order and the jacket potato were gluten free. I got the jacket potato with the chargrilled bbq chicken which was delicious. If you're eating here as a coeliac, definitely ask your server which dishes are and aren't suitable for you.
Called for a meal before seeing a show at Cast. Seated straight away and drinks served while we viewed menu. Meal was delicious and arrived pretty quickly. Staff was lovely, polite and attentive. We ordered a pulled pork salad bowl, Mexican chicken salad bowl, big chief, beer battered onion rings, cheese garlic bread and potato skins.
Title: Disappointing Dining Experience Rating: ⭐⭐ I recently visited Cactus Jack in Doncaster, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The overall service was disappointingly slow, making it difficult to get the attention of the staff throughout the meal. The food took quite a while to arrive from the kitchen, and when it did, it was far from satisfactory. I ordered the chili burger, but it appeared to be overcooked and burnt, which was a letdown. My partner opted for the ribs, only to find them dry and unappetizing. Regrettably, it wasn't just our meals that were subpar; the rest of our group had similar complaints about their food. To make matters worse, the difficulties continued even when we wanted to settle the bill and leave. It was a challenge to get the staff's attention at the end of our meal. Overall, my recent visit to Cactus Jack was far from enjoyable. Considering my past experiences were nothing special either, I am inclined to say that I won't be returning anytime soon.
Thanks to LNER, we were stranded in Doncaster unexpectedly last night. Shared a cab with a local who mentioned Cactus Jack when asked for dining recommendation. So glad he did! Had the chicken & steak fajitas. Huge portions - didn't finish everything. All fresh and tasty. Staff were absolutely lovely. Fun cowboyish tunes, great atmosphere. Plug points at each booth for emergency charging. Good fun after a rubbish day 😁
