Found this gem in Doncaster quite by chance, if you would like an authentic meal, this would be my first choice. We went for a meal after a day of shopping, food was fresh and tasted amazing. Prices are reasonable as well, service was friendly and informative. Can't fault anything , well worth a visit.

Really didn't like this place other than the decor and was very disappointed ! The service is awful and our waiter could barely understand English so when we had a problem with the order being wrong it took a long time to resolve by which time I'd had enough. When the food came out all I can say was it was bland .. zero taste to my mains and the Bombay potatoes advertised as spicy were anything but the sauce was sweet .... Really didn't like it and definitely won't be returning

Our first visit last night and from the start we thought great Lovely building and really nice ambiance. The food itself was plentiful and started off great with the starters 👌 we had a curry each and shared a rice that was enough for 4 people and a lovely garlic bread. Sadly both the curry dishes let it down for us and for the table behind us that also complained and sent them back. From the reviews I’m guessing the chef either was having a bad night or the cleaner was cooking. Would I return !!! Probably yes as it was such a nice lovely setting.

We visited Spice and Ice last night and were blown away by the quality of the food. We were also really dismayed that we were the only people in. So firstly, the restaurant itself is still super glamourous and very comfortable. But the food is the real star now. Firstly, they have included very interesting dishes on the menu such as Gobi Manchurian and Aloo Papri Chaat alongside curry house favourites. They managed to get everything right. Our favourite dish was a smoky aubergine dish called Baingan Bharta. The waiter explained how they burtnt the aubergine skin to get the flavour. We got the impression that all the food was made from scratch with this type of care. Another star dish was the Samosas, they are the Punjabi style made with thick pastry, slightly spicy and very filling. Also, the wine was a reasonable price and great quality. So the only criticism we could come up with was “no craft beer”, but that’s pretty much the same for all restaurants in Doncaster. Finally, the staff were excellent. They were knowledgeable, polite and professional. Photo of the bill included but we all thought it was excellent value for what we had. They are obviously skilled in the trade and cared about customers. We told them they need an Open Now banner out front because we thought the place had closed down. Anyway, if you are in the area, please give them a go.
