I being an immigrant felt nervous before I was registering with this surgery because of the negative reviews about how the staff is treating other nationalities, after having few appointments at this surgery. My experience was good with all the nurses and the doctor Mr. Jones. So do not look at the other negative comments just register here and get your treatment done.
It’s easier to ride a unicorn than it is to get an appointment here. I’ve been coming here since 1993 and every year the wait times get worse and worse. Trying to get an appointment now is a nightmare. I was supposed to get a telephone call appointment at 8:30 this morning but nobody called. I rang up I’m 12 in a queue. I get to the front of the queue to be told I’m on a call back list. Finally get a call back at 15:00 only to be told I’ll now have to wait 2 days for a face to face appointment. Receptionists are no help either I feel like they want to do everything in their power to not get you an appointment either. It seems in the last 10 years actually getting to see a doctor has become impossible.
In agreement with a previous review below, I cannot understand some of the negative comments left about this practice. This is by far the best practice that I have been to, in terms of both staff, and appointment times. It is extremely easy to get an appointment, whether that be same-day or routine. The same-day triage service is excellent, operating in the morning if you need urgent attention (I have been met with either a prompt call-back from the GP, or by a receptionist asking me to come into the surgery that day). In terms of a routine GP appointment, I haven’t waited any longer than 4-5 working days (this is absolutely excellent for the NHS, as I know friends who have waited around 4 weeks for a routine appointment at other surgeries). There is always a choice of whether you want a face-to-face appointment, or a phone call, which makes flexibility even easier. The surgery works on a day-by-day booking basis, meaning that there is always a GP available; you always have the option of calling back at a later date to get on the list for a specific GP, if they are already booked up that day. All of the staff that I have seen are extremely professional and attentive. Dr. Madlom was excellent with me, and I was quickly referred to cardiology after speaking to him and having the necessary tests done. The referral went through quickly, and I got confirmation of this from the hospital the day after. Yes, the phone lines are sometimes busy, as with any surgery. However, being a surgery in the middle of Doncaster and housing (I expect) thousands of patients, this is only expected (especially during the winter months). Reception staff are excellent at assessing which clinician you need booking in with. Whilst I understand some concerns, staff do need to know a brief reason so that you can be booked in appropriately with the correct person. They have always treated me well both in the surgery and on the phone, and have explained things thoroughly (such as why I need an appointment with a certain person). Would highly recommend this surgery to anyone looking for a new one!
Multiple excellent experiences with this practice over the last few years. Was able to get appointments promptly and the care my family and I have received has always been of a high standard.
Phoned for a non-urgent appointment and got one that was convenient the week after ! Got seen by the Acp/nurse team and can’t fault the care ! Barely had to wait to be seen once I checked in and I feel the care I got was very thorough and was delivered with a smile and friendly manner . Left feeling very satisfied with the care and management plan.
