Our lovely Mum was admitted on 12th December and subsequently moved to a hospice today. Right from the very beginning every single member of staff, cleaners, nurses, sisters, consultants have treated Mum with respect, dignity and kindness. They made Mum and us her family feel safe and listened to. We cannot thank them enough for their kindness and professionalism at a very sad time. We are so grateful. Thank you.

Hospital is several decades overdue an overhaul. 7 hours in A&E as category red patient before being told to walk to other side of hospital site to another department, with no paperwork. The critical decision making doctor could have referred us when we were seen 2 hours after arrival. I can only describe the A&E experience as absolute overwhelmed disorganised pandemoniac chaos. Nothing was given to relieve any symptoms during the 7 hours in A&E. Their main treatment appears to be saline drips administered in the waiting room. The two porters I met stank of alcohol. A&E department is approximately a tenth of the size it should be. Be warned, they let âpeople in severe crisisâ walk around A&E freely which can be extremely traumatising to other patients. When we left after 7 hours the mental health team still hadnât been to assess the patient who was causing havoc and scaring those undergoing treatment. The staff lost someone at 8am and finally reported them as missing person to police at 2pm. Loose, used syringes left on top of brochure stand in ward waiting rooms. If you are truly in medical emergency, I very much doubt you would have a positive outcome at this hospital.
Birthing Partner Waiting / Changing Room. Itâs the size of a phone box, its designed to increase anxiety and goodness help you if someone else is in!! These pictures will make those that have used it hyperventilate BUT itâs a memorable place for an amazing time in peoples life.
Big shout out to The Frailty Assessment Unit and Care of the Elderly Mallard ward for looking after my dad for the last 3 weeks after he came into A/E with an infection and falls. The care he received has been first class. The staff are rushed off their feet but all the staff maintain a high standard of professionalism and empathy in caring for all the patients. They have all been absolutely fantastic. Many many thanks from Derek Beadle and family.
