I’m not sure if they’re under new management or not but the range of food is so small compared to what it used to be. Went for a breakfast deal at 8am there were no sausages at that time. Received a bacon butty with just 2 slices of bacon 😂 wish I’d have gone to prego around the corner now. Hate to leave a bad review but for a chain such as cooplands you don’t expect to have minimal choices.

Oh dear. Where do I start? I think it's best to start with my most recent experience which decided that I should actually write a review after my 2 previous experiences in this shop which were also very poor. I've only visited myself 3 times as one of my colleagues skways had done the daily lunch run for us all ...or did do. .. but won't be any more. Its not about the food...its all about the lack of customer service delivered by the same woman working in the shop. She needs remedial training in customer service. . . Desperately before she loses more customers. I shared this mornings experience with my 15 work colleagues who visit there for lunch Mon to Fri ...and no longer will be. I arrived most recently into this shop today, never to return again. I was the only customer on the premises. I asked for a bacon sandwich. I asked for it with brown sauce. I asked if there were any extras I could order. The woman said 'what do you mean' ? whilst looking angrily at me and her tone being one of disbelief that I was asking this question. I suggested maybe they have mushrooms or egg. 'No just bacon or sausage' was the very abrupt reply. I asked how much the bacon sandwich cost and got out my purse. I held my purse up and rested the back of one of my hands against the curved glass counter whilst retrieving the coins. I was shocked by a piercing shriek from the woman saying 'I've only just cleaned that glass, get your fingers off the glass, I'm fed up of telling kids to take their fingers off the glass'. I am 57 yrs old and not a child. I dont think its great customer setvice to speak to an adult like you would a naughty child. I courteously advised the woman that my fingers did not touch the glass and it was the back of my hand that had touched the glass. I was shocked, unhappy and was about to walk out at this point but remained silent and thought that id just take my sandwich when it was ready and write a review about my experience today and the 2 previous experiences I had had with this woman which were also very bad. The woman then went on about kids always putting their fingers on the glass and she was fed up of cleaning it. This was not my problem and really did not need this as had not put my fingers on her freshly cleaned counter. My previous visit was about a month ago and I had walked in and asked for a sausage roll for breakfast. The same woman looked at me in astonishment and annoyance, and said ' can't you see we have no hot food'? I said 'no I had not realised this'. She then said 'well this is what these 2 are doing, mending my oven' pointing to 2 men in the shop. SORRY but I'm not a mind reader. I stupidly bought something cold as needed change for the car park. My first ever experience of the shop and this woman was last year. I walked into the shop because the lights were on, the door was open and food was on display. I was swiftly and rudey told to leave the shop by this same woman as they were not open. It was 8.10am and obviously wrongly assumed they were open as everyting indicated that they were. Cooplands food is good. Cooplands East Lauth Gate needs to train this woman in customer care or manage her out because she is so rude and has lost the shop 15 customers each day at lunch Mon to Fri through her incompetence. Shoddy service at its best.

I’ve always found this to take a bit of a wait at peak times and the variety to be quite limited in these times too. Other than that it’s a nice store with friendly staff and reasonably priced products to go with. Once you are at the front of the queue you get through pretty quickly.

Gutted to hear about the closure on Thorne Cooplands, it was a staple visit everytime I came to visit my grandparents! Popped into the Doncaster branch opposite primark and the manager served me! Great atmosphere and lovely snacks! Will definitely be visiting before I travel back to London!
