Absolutely loved this place. It feels like the old fashioned toy shops I'd visit in the 90s that have died out now - walls crammed with little pocket money goodies to take home. As an adult with ADHD and Autism I loved testing out the sensory toys available, well priced fun little toys to calm the senses and fidgets, great for stocking fillers too. If I were local I'd visit more frequently!
This quaint store stands out for its diverse and unique collection of items, making it an intriguing destination within the shopping center. During our initial visit, I was impressed with the quality and affordability of the "moving painting" I purchased for £10. Notably, the staff's attentiveness shone through when they went out of their way to retrieve the specific item I desired, even though it wasn't readily accessible. On our second visit, we explored the store again, this time drawn to the enchanting world of music boxes. However, the experience took an unexpected turn as we noticed a staff member closely watching us during our five-minute deliberation. This surveillance created a somewhat uncomfortable atmosphere, and it was surprising given the positive engagement we had during our previous visit. Fortunately, the woman at the counter, who proved to be friendly and accommodating, helped salvage the overall impression of the second trip. In conclusion, The Gadget Stall offers a unique and diverse shopping experience, highlighted by quality products and attentive staff. While the second visit had a moment of discomfort due to perceived surveillance, the positive elements of the shop, including its distinctive items and helpful staff, make it an interesting shop to visit.
if your looking for a place to treat you like a criminal mastermind for just browsing then look no futher, then this is the place. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the warm, welcoming gaze of approximately 47 security cameras, each more judgmental than the last. The staff are clearly trained in the art of "subtle" surveillance. I swear, one employee followed me so closely, I started to think they were auditioning to be my new shadow. And don't even *think* about picking up an item to examine it – you'll trigger a silent alarm that only the staff can hear, prompting them to descend upon you like vultures. Honestly, I was half-expecting them to ask for a DNA sample on my way out, just to be sure I hadn't replaced anything with a cleverly disguised replica. Five stars for making me feel like I'm starring in my own heist movie, except I'm just trying to buy a scented candle.
theres a lingering damp smell that violates your nostrils as you walk in. The staff are extremely paranoid of thieves, which makes them end up following you around the whole shop and taking you on an unnecessary tour you never asked for and the lady behind the counter is extremely rude. the only saving grace of this shop is that Nigel’s coin magic tricks are cool.
Do not buy Pokémon cards from here, bought multiple booster bundles etc from here rarely ever get a hit all the packs seem hard to open as if resealed plus they treat you horribly and the woman by the counter likes to give you hee life story vault 14 is nearby and a much better card shop
