They had a wedding the Saturday we came which is completely fine but then they clearly let them get up and start playing the drums and singing Christian songs all through the morning from 8am onwards loud as hell below our room, was ridiculous. Also they wouldn’t put the heating on, i asked them 3 times before it was actually put on but by that time we was going out, we spent the whole day shivering under the covers. Also dog hairs in rooms

Lovely location next to the park, and the dining room & bar were really nice, but the rooms are really tired and desperately in need of renovation. The breakfast menu sounded great, but the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast was underwhelming. Hardly any smoked salmon, tasteless scrambled eggs and cheap white sliced toast. For the amount they charge for breakfast it was a bit poor. Staff were super friendly though 🙂 If the rooms were refurbished, and a bit more thought went into the breakfast options, it would be a fantastic place to stay. If you like beers then the Salutation pub Iver the road is well worth a visit!!

We had our wedding reception here last weekend and it was amazing from start to finish! Jo and Simon are amazing, so kind and helpful. I stayed the night before and soon as I arrived they were helping me unloading my car and making sure everything was good for us all! We had a meal which was 10/10. The morning of the wedding all the staff were on hand to help with anything that was needed even including getting me in my dress and into the car. The rooms were big and spacious with comfortable beds. Throughout the whole day staff were always around to help with anything and no long waits to be served! Again food was absolutely amazing for the wedding reception and so filling every guest commented on how delicious it all was! Will definitely be returning to try the Sunday lunch! Thank you to all the staff at the regent but especially Simon and Jo you are all amazing! The wrights

The hotel lobby and restaurant looked nice enough but the rooms were very dated. Furniture was tired and had seen better days. Carpets needed cleaning and hoovering on the stairs and in our room there were lots of stains on the carpet. Hairdryer had the most twisted cord I’ve ever seen and didn’t fit in the holder, kettle in the room had a broken lid and didn’t turn off when boiling. The two tiny UHT milks that were suppled in the room tasted terrible and old. Bathroom needed a very good clean and a hoover. There was someone’s hair all over the floor. No handwash/soap, shampoo or conditioner supplied and had to ask for something to wash our hands with. Very small car park which was full when we arrived, had to park two streets away but it was free on street parking so could have been worse. There is a pay and display car park just behind the hotel. Night rates don’t include breakfast. Somewhat noisy in the room with old sash windows not being double glazed and we were woken up at 6 am by some kind of loud fan type noise which we had no idea where it was coming from. I wouldn’t say it’s the worst place I’ve stayed but I wouldn’t go back!

Can’t comment on the hotel but just had Sunday lunch, we got the platter for 2 and the portion is amazing! Could have easily fed 3 people. Beef was a little too well done for me (that’s just personal preference) but they’ll chicken was well seasoned and the pork belly melted in your mouth! Amazing service from Simon and the team! Always happy to help and nothings too much trouble!
