I'm basing my review on Cursworth Hall museum as a disabled person. No signs on where to go, as said disabled access! My hubby went in to ask. It is the blue door on the right side of the stairs & has a bell. The first thing than welcoming, which was great, was if there was a fire would you be able to walk down the stairs? I'm in ta wheelchair as I can't walk far or stand for too long. If you can't then a visit will be a waste of time if you are disabled and unable to get out of your wheelchair. I entered with my daughter and hubby. There is a lift that will take to one floor only. There is some furniture and history of the hall from the 1700s. Is somewhat fascinating. Lovely views. Entry is free, but donations are welcome. There is a car park & disabled blue badge holders free, and paid parking otherwise. The grounds are lovely, at least a wheelchair user can enjoy this. Has disabled toilets. if the day was warm- we visited on November 28th 2025 Cursworth isn't open everyday in winter. There is a lake, play park and a nice walk. There is a Butlers tea room adjacent to the Hall, open every day and I recommend if you are able to walk from your wheelchair and fold. The Tea room is in the old stables. There are toilets.
What a great day out. The house was a real treasure. Great views and walks too. Well worth a visit.
Beautiful place to walk even when house not open. Views spectacular. Wildlife fab. Paths good for prams. Cafe and pub brill. Dog and children friendly. Parking good don't mind the small charge worth it. Great any weather.
Beautiful building which has been meticulously restored, interesting artefacts and fabulous views of Doncaster. Great value too, only pay for parking.
We found Cusworth hall by chance. We were looking for a central place to meet family from York, Lincoln and Kegworth. What an absolute gem. Beautiful house, gorgeous well looked after grounds with a beautiful lake, a play park for the children, picnic benches and 2 places to eat and drink. Plus it is free entry, dog friendly with reasonable parking prices. All in all we had a great day. We will definitely be returning.
