I love this park, I feel instant instant calm with all the beautiful trees. It's well kept & enjoyable all year round, I've seen squirrels & a fox as well as a variety of wild birds. It's great for families & dog walkers.
Very nice walk around the park. With plenty of fields adjoining the lake walk. Pram / wheelchair friends walk. Plenty of ducks and wildlife to see. There is free parking which can get quite busy at times. There is a small cafe serving a selections of snacks and drinks. Would highly recommend. Update. Spring 2024 The temporary bouncy castle guy that attends most weekends is a good addition. Was only £3. Recent surfacing works are looking good.
came here for a walk yesterday in the afternoon after a long drive . it was very nice and relaxing . not many people around 2-3 pm in a weekday , and many goose and ducks to feed. there is a big lake to walk around and lots of small play parks for kids
It's a really nice space, much used and very well cared for by the volunteers. I took my litter picker upper, aspiring to a place in the pantheon. There's also an excellent, authentic 1950s style café open in the mornings with all appropriate delicacies - Perfect.
Plenty of parking, they do events ALOT it's great to follow them on Facebook. This time when we visited there was a little fair, some stalls, mascots, bouncy castles, food outlets and some portaloos. There's plenty of parks/ play areas for little ones. Didn't get a 5 due to the toilets at sandal park not actually being open. Would of made sense if the facilities were open now it's coming into summer or when events are on .
