Dunsley Chapel

Recently stayed for a birthday celebration. House was lovely and in a great location. However on arrival one of the double beds was broken, literally in pieces so 2 members of our party had to go home as there was nowhere else for them to sleep. Also, on departure we accidentally left my son’s Nintendo switch in the bedroom, we were halfway home when we realised. When I spoke to the property they stated the cleaners never reported any left property. My son is absolutely devastated as it isn’t something we can replace at this time. Why someone would steal an item that obviously belongs to a child is shocking!!

Family holiday upon arrival property looked great. Living space excellent cleanliness was an issue dead flowers in the living room,outside front garden weeds and rubbish from previous guests contacted company they assured us they would send someone to clear the front garden they never arrived. Downstairs bedroom wardrobe was full of storage items vacuum cleaner unable to hang cloths. No sweeping brushes or dust pans to clean up.Twin bedroom on the ground floor smelled of cats urine informed company of this room we had to spray the room daily .This is a lovely home but sad to say for the price we paid would not recommend it. We have returned home and have not heard from the agent. .

Extremely well appointed and spacious accommodation with great facilities for a large family or a couple of smaller ones. Great rural surroundings just a few minutes drive from Whitby or Sandsend (even closer - try the White Hart and definitely avoid the Beach Hotel) and a small village shop. There is also a medium supermarket (Costcutter) and a pharmacy in the Parade before you get to Whitby, which has plenty of regular shops and facilities. Plenty of walks and a sea view. Rental company was efficient and supportive. We had a great time and the WiFi worked just fine for us.

WE BOOKED THIS TRIP AS A SPECIAL GETAWAY FOR MY MOTHER IN LAW. WE WERE REALLY EXCITED AT THE PROPERTY LOOKED STUNNING. ON ARRIVAL THE PROPERTY WAS BEAUTIFUL AND A PEACEFUL LOCATION. HOWEVER THE CLEANLINESS OF THIS PROPERTY LET IT DOWN, PLUS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE MANAGEMENT TEAM CALLED HOST AND STAY. ONCE INSIDE THE PROPERTY, IT WAS CLEAR THAT IT HAD NOT BEEN HOOVERED, THERE WERE DEAD INSECTS IN THE BEDROOM, AND COBWEBS, HAIR AND CRUMBS ON THE SOFA, DRIED MUD IN THE COMMUNAL AREAS. THIS WAS SUCH A SHAME AS THE PROPERTY IS STUNNING. FURTHERMORE, I DECIDED AFTER A 3 HOUR JOURNEY TO MAKE A CUP OF TEA, ONLY TO FIND THE KETTLE HEAVILY SCALE AND UNUSABLE. CIGARETTE ENDS LEFT ON THE WINDOWSILL OUTSIDE, A DISUSED MOP HEAD LEFT AT THE ENTRANCE GATE, AND BALLOON ENDS FROM I CAN ONLY ASSUME THE PREVIOUS USERS LEFT IN THE PROPERTY, THIS WAS FOUND MY OUR DOG! ALSO DUE TO THE SIZE OF THE PROPERTY, THE MAIN ROOM WAS COLDER, WE DECIDED TO PUT THE LOG FIRE ON, ONLY TO FIND 3 WET LOGS IN THE OUTSIDE SHED. I CONTACTED HOST AND STAY AND EXPLAINED MY CONCERNS ABOVE, TO WHICH THEY SAID SOMEONE WILL GET BACK TO, AND COULD NOT PROVIDE A TIME AS TO WHEN THIS WOULD BE. I ENDED UP CLEANING THE PROPERTY MYSELF AND PURCHASED A NEW KETTLE AND BLANKETS. 24 HOURS LATER, STILL NO UPDATE FROM HOST AND STAY. I THEN CONTACTED THEM AND THEY SAID THEY WERE WAITING FOR THE HOUSEKEEPING TEAM TO RESPOND, THEY DID NOT KNOW WHERE THE EXTRA LOGS WERE AS THIS WAS MANAGED BY THE PROPERTY OWNER. THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. DAY 3 I CONTACTED THEM AGAIN AND THEY OFFERED TO ARRANGE FOR HOUSE KEEPING TO VISIT THE DAY BEFORE I WAS DUE TO CHECK OUT. ITS SUCH A SHAME THAT THIS WAS MANAGED SO POORLY AND THE PROPERTY WAS IN THIS STATE. I FORMALLY MADE A COMPLAINT AFTER MY STAY AND REQUESTED 1 NIGHTS STAY TO BE REFUNDED (£278) TO WHICH THEY REFUSED, AND ONLY OFFERED TO (£120)

We was all very impressed by the property, extremely good standards in the property, it pretty much had everything all modern, nicely decorated, everyone of us was well impressed with everything in and outside of the property The location was perfect for me nice quite little village but only 10mins drive from Whitby The only thing I would criticise on is the WiFi wasn't very good or easy to connect to but other than that we loved it and would imagine we will try return later in year 👍
