We gave stayed at Dunsley Hall a few times over the last 15 or so years and have never been disappointed. We've just got back from our latest week there and I must say the staff are all extremely pleasant with nothing too much trouble. The meals were varied and very tasty and the room was very clean with daily check ups for any requirements. The only reason the location loses a mark is because it is over a mile up a single track road, but, having said that, it's not often you meet any traffic. Excellent value for money. Keep up the good work and don't alter anything. Graham and Judith Readshaw

We ate here on a Saturday eve in June. When we arrived we were informed that the choice on the fixed menu was limited due to selling out of the favourite. I was offered a burger instead - not my idea of dining out! The burger was dried out and burned in places. The other courses were equally disappointing. The dining area lacked atmosphere. The staff were rude and ungracious, in particular the lady behind the bar. We will not be returning nor recommending to anyone.

We spent one night here taking advantage of the dinner bed and breakfast deal and felt it was great value for money, dinner was fine, room was comfortable and setting was extremely peaceful. Room 9 looks over the garden and has a modern bathroom, beautiful old windows and so so peaceful. The bar is atmospheric and the drinks prices for an hotel are very reasonable. All the staff we encountered were friendly and engaging. Bed mattress maybe due for replacement and pillows not too comfy. Maybe a bit of music in the dinning room at night and breakfast would provide a bit more ambience. However for a relaxed one night great value break this takes some beating.

Firstly £130 for bed, breakfast and evening meal is a great price for a couple. I thought the food offered was good and drinks reasonably priced. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. I loved the interior of the building. The poor wi fi and tv reception is not really acceptable nowadays I feel although to be fair the hotel warn you. The gardens and outside seating could be so much nicer if some effort was made. I think staff, whilst friendly, maybe have never visited other hotels. I would have liked to have been told what time breakfast was and for my bottle of wine to be opened and poured for me. So overall I liked it and would return but it could be much better with just a few tweaks.

Great place. Lots of character and in great surroundings. Ideal spot to get to Sandsend & Whitby, etc. The staff are fantastic. Food is fantastic. It's up for sale and hopefully the new owners will keep the character of the building and the staff get a rise. To say there all working brilliant with a smile on there faces, not knowing what's round the corner. There very polite and helpful. What a great weekend. Recommend to all. ❤️
