This is an interesting free museum in a former scho, that focuses on how local people lived, plus a gallery on ancient Egypt.
Interactive museum for kids with local history. The Old Grammar School of William Wilberforce and Andrew Marvell. Opens every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month.
The hands on History Museum is a great place to visit there's quite a few interactive things for young children to do. The exhibits are arranged over two floors in this old former Grammar School. Some of the replicas of Tutankhamun's treasures that were exhibited on the second floor are currently on display in the ferrens art gallery. There used to be a little victorian wooden roller coaster that children used to love playing on unfortunately it was removed for health and safety reasons.
Free entry, suitable for children family to visit but the mummy is a bit scary.
