Herd Farm Residential & Activity Centre

Description

A warm welcome awaits you at Herd Farm. A Grade 2 Listed converted barn transformed into a 50 bed residential and outdoor activity centre for children and young people. Other groups include private hire, weddings and non-residential, ie activity only, are also welcome.

Herd Farm has no kept animals but is an environmental oasis set in 16 acres of countryside surrounded by farmland and woods yet only 7 miles from Leeds city centre. Our location overlooks the Harewood Estate and the Emmerdale TV outdoor village set and offers easy access to a range of on and off road cycle ways and popular bird watching areas.

Our chef offers fresh homemade meals and cater for a range of dietary needs. Our dining room is furnished with home-made heavy pine tables and chairs. We have nine bedrooms two of which share on suite facilities to support those requiring additional support by group leaders. The rooms are joined by a glass covered corridor with underfloor heating. This area is self-contained ensuring children have access at night to accessible toilets and showers without having to go back into the main Barn. Our main Barn has free Wi-Fi, this can be turned off if group teachers/leaders prefer.

Access to the site is assured by our network of paths. We work hard to keep these as accessible as possible and can offer further support to those with mobility restrictions with pre booked access to our electric mobility buggies Pinky & Perky.

Our reception is open office hours Monday to Friday and the site has a resident warden along with secure vehicle entrance and CCTV monitoring.

For your visits choose from half day activities to full activity days or residentials from 2 nights to 4 nights or longer.
