Looked for a pub in Eckington which was dog friendly and this came up with good reviews. Not sure if there are new owners but we were told when we walked in they do not accept dogs. We stayed for a drink and sat outside in the garden on benches that were falling apart. Please advise Google you do not accept dogs when people are making an effort to visit your pub.

I've always sat and had a drink outside, so cant comment on the pub itself. But the drinks are very reasonably priced. Just a shame that very little care is taken on the outdoor grassed area. Numerous occasions I have visited and it gets more and more over grown, glass bottles thrown in the bushes and cigarette butts litter the grass. It's a shame as this pub has potential, it could easily attract local families who fancy a quick and enjoyable visit to the pub. It's about attracting new custom - regulars die, unfortunately - and the pub industry is dying too.

We were told to sit down as soon as we walked in as we weren't allowed to order at the bar. A bunch of regulars then walk in after us and stood at the bar chatting away to the landlord, not being told to sit down and ordering drinks like there was nothing wrong. If you are going to enforce social distancing rules then do so for all customers, not just your regulars! You order a drink with Coke and they put Diet Coke in (flat from a 1 litre bottle that's been open all night) Sticky floors, sticky tables, dark interior. We had one drink and decided to go to another local pub with more polite staff and a better atmosphere.

Friendly atmosphere with open log burner and if weather treats us good brilliant beer garden, parking for about 6 cars at rear and and ample parking on front road just outside. In a quiet friendly village at a cheap price. Chattered to landlord and maybe doing food soon.. Fingers crossed🀞
