Lovely church, worth a visit if you are on tge area.
Very nicely laid out church and graveyard unfortunately I did not see inside due to it being in use at the time of my visit
Victorian Gothic, sumptuously decorated inside and out. Interesting memorials and a well thought out heritage corner, with guide books and leaflets to help in exploring the church and beyond. Seems to be open every day, and the locals are friendly. Car parking is right at the back of the churchyard, past The Fat Abbot.
We recently had our wedding at St Helen's and we cannot recommend it enough as a venue. The church itself is stunning, but even more importantly everyone in the church have been so lovely and welcoming to us right from our first enquiry. We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the congregation over the last year and look forward to calling in many more times in the future when we are back in Yorkshire. A special thank you goes out to Revd Francis who led a brilliant service on our wedding day.
Lovely church steeped in history and a very nice interior. Well worth a visit. Easy car parking and it appears to be open during the day. Rather unusual font, old organ, nice stained glass, fantastic memorials.
