Having the carvery today and it's gorgeous. Well cooked, plenty of choice and great quality. Friendly staff too. 👍 If you look at my other reviews I am quite critical when recieving below quality and not value for money. This place is definitely worth a try.

We have just had our first carvery at The George Hotel, the food was excellent and such a wide range of vegetables all prepared perfectly. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, we recommend this restaurant.

We visited here for a takeaway carvery as we had been messed about from another local pub. This was the best decision we made, from the bar staff to the chef it was so much better. We ordered 2 standard carvery and a child's for our 18 month old and the quality and selection on offer was really good. The chef even came out to me and my daughter as we had a dog to tell me the husband had gone the other way out 🙈 which i thought was lovely as he didn't have to do that. We took the food back to our apartment and it was delicious. We will be back before we go home and this will be our go to for sunday dinner every visit to whitby we can highly recommend it.

Myself and my hubbie called into the carvery for Sunday lunch I have to say what a disappointing experience the food was cold they only had 2 meats to select from and the beef was a little tough to say the least my husband ordered a vegetarian carvery you pay the same price as the meat one which I think is wrong on every level as you don’t get a choice of any veggie option to replace the meat, he asked for an extra Yorkshire pudding instead but was refused on the grounds they wouldn’t have enough. We asked for vegetarian gravy which if you advertise a vegetarian option you would think they would have but no we waited over half an hour and several requests before they brought it to the table by this time the meal was stone cold. We will definitely not recommend and we will not return

I didn't stay at this hotel so I can't comment on the rooms however I did come in for a carvery and the place looked great, the food was top quality and it was even dog friendly, it had large screens for the sports and a good bar with friendly staff.
