Elland War Memorial in Hullen Edge Park Hullen Edge Park war memorial is a much treasured statue, remembering soldiers who died in the First and Second World Wars.The Elland community turns out on Remembrance celebrations, to remember the fallen. The memorial and it’s garden is cared for by The British Legion, Calderdale Council and other volunteers. It is a lovely place to visit. The memorial is a bronze and granite sculpture of a soldier on a pedestal which carries inscriptions and names of those who gave their lives in World War I and II. The memorial is grade II listed. The memorial was designed and created by the sculptor Francis William Doyle Jones. It was purchased through public subscription and unveiled in 1922. Doyle Jones' signature and the year "1922" are incised on the corner of the base.
