The local area is a paradise for walkers and countryside lovers. The beautiful historic city of York is just 10 miles west of Fangfoss with a Park and Ride facility available on the outskirts. The many attractions include York Minster, The National Railway Museum, The Jorvik Viking Centre and The Castle Museum.

A walk in York can take you around the City walls or along the cobbled streets with The Shambles being a favourite haunt. There are many delightful shops along with a host of places to eat and drink with a different vista around every corner.

The East Coast is 30 miles from Fangfoss and the North Yorkshire Moors are a short drive northwards passing through the Howardian Hills. Further to the west are the delights of the Yorkshire Dales.
