I've been to a lot of cocktail bars all over the world. A lot. The cocktails at Test are up there with some of the best I've tasted. Considering the core menu is entirely gin based, it is wonderfully varied and incredibly creative. On occasion they've branched away from gin, the results are comfortably impressive. The owners and the staff are exceptionally friendly and hospitable, offering perfect service every time I've visited. I introduce this bar to everyone I can. Excellent.
Fantastic evening! Vibes are solid, Grace and Dan are excellent. Off-menu cocktails tailored to our taste is a treat, and generally just such friendly vibes.
We came here on a whim for a few drinks. Wow wow wow, absolutely amazing place. The drinks look and taste incredible. Fair warning, harder to find and totally worth it.
We visited test for a cocktail, however we received a big lump of ice in a glass surrounded by around 10ml of drink, the ice was the same size as the glass, which apparently is to ensure the drink does not get warm, the width of the square ice matched the diameter of the glass! The drink doesn’t last long enough for it to get warm as there’s too little… The guy who served us was quite rude stating “please and thank you” constantly… like we were school children… it was boiling hot and the “distillery” was just surrounded in boxes - not much of an atmosphere. A lot of money for not much drink.
Online it shows that the Test Bar shuts at 12am….WRONG!!! We walked up to the bar after seeing a show at the Old Woolen and got to the bar after having to having to ask many of people how to get their (as we’d heard it had great reviews)…WRONG ONCE AGAIN….we had hoped to get a cocktail after the show but were told straight on the door they they had already done last orders to close! It was 10:45! 1 hr 15 mins before they were supposed to close, I would understand if they explained they were short staff etc but last orders over AN HOUR BEFORE YOU CLOSE! Not on, very disappointed
