Nice and clean restaurant with parking in the back. The fish was smaller than I remembered but tasted delicious and the chips are divine. Had to wait a long while for my dessert order. The desert I had was apple crumble with custard but the custard was watery and tasteless.

Quiet Sunday dinner time. Food was good. Reasonably priced. Would have liked to see more varied fish dishes but I can assume and understand why they don't.

We decided to come here to eat in rather than takeaway and the food was fantastic. The mixed platter to start tasted very fresh and the batter was light and crispy. The salad was also really fresh and finely chopped. We both had the regular haddock and chips as mains which were again well cooked, batter crispy and light. The warm fudge cake for dessert with ice cream was lovely and the whole visit was a great experience. All the staff were very friendly and attentive when needed but not overly so. We'd happily make the decision to eat in again in future. Thank you 😊

Just ordered fish and chips online as our usual fish shop was closed. Chips were fine. I wanted lightly battered fish. However the fish is the worst I have had. So hard I couldn’t cut through the batter.not much fish. Wanted golden not overcooked. I couldn’t eat mine. Really disappointed.

I was eager to review one of the seven branches of The Wetherby Whaler, and on this occasion, I chose Pudsey. There is a good-sized private free car park to the rear of the building. The shop is large, with a dedicated chippy takeaway and a spacious restaurant. Everything was tidy, and the customer service was commendable. The packaging was environmentally friendly. I opted for the Whaler Haddock, which was a thick jumbo fillet encased in a dark, crispy batter. The batter had a colour I had never experienced before, but the taste was excellent, as was the haddock. However, the chips were pale, much too firm, and rather bland. The potato scallop was a bit oily (beef dripping) and, like the Yorkshire fishcake, could have benefitted from being left to drain for a minute or two before packaging.
