I visited this place today as a birthday treat as im 38 years young. Firstly the atmosphere is warm cosy and feels very local and community strong. The gentleman who served me with his dapper appearance was a true gentleman and would hire him as a butler to the stars. The aroma of coffee in the place as you step in really filled me with joy and wonder. The prices of the coffee were a key point given that it's barista made bean to cup coffee and a large one is under 4 pounds whether its Latte or Cappuccino. Next we have the cake which I can only describe as generous wedges of heaven. I was lucky enough to try 3 different types and I was thrice lucky to have dined upon such feats of glory. I shall be visiting again soon. Thanks for such a wonderful experience.
Converted me to drinking coffee rather than tea, as Martin makes an excellent tasty brew. On top of that his in house baked cakes keep calling me back. Really comfortable seating & you can join in the banter in the front or have a quiet drink in the lounge. The celebration cakes he makes are all works of art. The “Cheers” of coffee & cake houses 😄
Update: Coffee and Cake House has moved a few doors to the street to 153 Richardshaw Lane as of 6th December 2021. It was at 161 before so. The food is as good as ever and interior is even better than before. Now with additional seating lounge area Original review which I stand by: Great friendly service. Coffee was lovely. Not sure I've ever had a nicer rocky road.
I literally never write reviews on places, but as I tuck into this carrot cake I can’t help but credit this guy for his work this is the best place u can go to 11/10
Martin recently did my sons 2nd birthday cake and cupcakes and I could t of asked for anything better, it looked and tasted AMAZING
