Had a room booked for 1 night, when plans had changed. Called to see if anything could be changed. I was met by the rudest man ever. He would not let me explain and kept talking over me, then had the cheek to tell me stop butting in. Even though, i was still explaining what I was calling for. Didn't likw the fact i advised that we would just book somewhere else if changes were not doable. He was shouting down the phone at me like i was a child. Told me hes cancelled my room and i wasn't getting my money back. In all fairness he can keep the money, he needs it more than i do. And with that attitude to customer service I'm surprised he gets any guest staying. This place makes faulty towers looks like the ritz carlton. Would rather sleep in a 2 man tent at the side of the motorway than deal with such a rude person.

Had a wonderful 5 nights stay at this lovely Guest House. Room very large with gabled ceiling. Super comfy bed & slept so well as its a quiet venue. Didn't have breakfast as I'm a late starter when away from home; Peter the owner was happy to oblige me Donna, his staff member, is also very helpful & cheerful. Pete also helped carry my heavy bag to my room on arrival & again back to my car when I left today. Great Yorkshire venue, local to my family & friends, will use again.

Over 200 years old, beautiful views, quiet, ideal for a stop over place, clean bed, hot shower, free WiFi and option of a cooked breakfast. Lovely. X

We, were do you start on a place like this. We arrived at 3pm after my wife had confirmed this with them on their website. We were immediately told they dont open until 5pm, so what about the other guests already there? After quite a condescending conversion from the owner we were shown to our "room", omg so dated and un maintained. There was lage cracks in the wall, plaster dropping off around the window, uneven, spongy floor, no remote for the tv, dirt and cobwebs in the tv unit, it smelt damp and the room was very cold, with God's know what in the bedside draw. I went to complain, and all i got was "well you've shot yourself in the foot as we dont open until 5pm, and thats when the heating comes on" WOW. So you have no control over the heating for you room. So we were going to leave. Then we were offered a luxury wooden lodge over looking fields. OMG a lodge, its a big shed thats cold and damp. This time there was no heating or electricity to the lodge. AGAIN i went to complain, and got the same answer, "WELL WE DONT OPEN UNTIL 5PM" " but as a sign of good faith I'll The turn it you on" OMG what world does he live in. So now we could use the oil fill radiator and the lights, and the electric blanket, electric blanket? It must get really cold in there. You couldn't see the rolling fields from inside the shed, as it has frosted windows? There was also an old washing machine on the "patio" area. we then saw how the wall was bulging into the room and also there was a massive hole in the corner of the room where you could see daylight through, they had tried to hide this with expanding foam, VERY BADLY. The bathroom was awful and very dated. The owner left for a jolly on his motor cycle regardless of him having guests knowing there was problems. So we decided to leave. We asked for a refund and we are still waiting to receive it. All I can say, is please don't fall into the same trap we did, unless you like the league of gentlemen, because thats what its like there.

Nice location and a great sized family room. Bathroom a little small. They are dog friendly and the breakfast in the morning was very good. Quirky and very helpful as this was a last minute booking as our originally booked hotel let us down at the eleventh hour.
