Gilberts deli

I get to this excellent deli whenever I can. All the products are first rate. Everything looks and tastes deliciously home made. I try to stock up a bit but nearly always just work my way through what I have bought. Things I have frozen come out just as good after defrosting and heating. The service is always pleasant and efficient. Occasionaly a short wait as the place is very popular. On street parking is limited but an ample carpark in east walking distance. Even the other customers are friendly and welcoming. There are a couple of tables outside.

Called in for a bacon and sausage sandwich which was beautiful, lovely bread bap, the sausages were herby but really nice, and the bacon i think was oven cooked and lovely tasting. Take out tea was just right and I got a scotch egg too, which was great. Lovely staff, nice bright and clean shop with plenty of variety. Would definitely go back next time im passing.

Simply the best deli Ive been to, love it, go at least once a week, the sandwiches are awesome 👌

Wonderful fresh food and the cakes etc are better than I can make myself. Only downside is the queuing times can be long because it is so popular. (and worth every minute)

Lovely little deli, super friendly staff with village atmosphere. I had a sandwich and it was delicious! Would definitely recommend.
