Gisburne Park Estate

1 Star – Took my money, denied my booking, ignored all follow-up! I booked and paid £390 for a 3-night stay at Gisburne Park Estate through Hipcamp. My credit card statement clearly shows the payment going directly to “Gisburne Park Estate”. After a 4-hour drive with my 3-year-old child, I arrived to be told by two managers that they had “never heard of Hipcamp”, had “no affiliation”, and that there was no booking in my name. Despite me showing my booking confirmation and proof of payment, they refused to accommodate us and turned us away late at night. My child was devastated and exhausted, and I had to find and pay for a hotel at extra cost. The managers even promised to email me a confirmation that they were full and could not honour the booking – but no such email ever came. Since then, Gisburne Park Estate has ignored every email I have sent them. This is not just poor service, it is disgraceful conduct. A business that takes money in its own name, denies all responsibility, fails to deliver the service paid for, and then ignores written correspondence is not one that anyone should trust. Families should be warned: do not risk booking here.

We got married at Gisburne Park in July 2024 and had the most magical day! It was the perfect outdoor setting we had pictured with the stream running through the valley which made for beautiful pictures. Steph and Tracey were absolutely fantastic from initially booking to execution of all our ideas on the day, nothing was too much trouble. The house was immaculate and there were beautiful flowers left to congratulate us on our special weekend. Having the house for the 3 days meant we could thoroughly settle in for the whole weekend and make the place our own.

Visited the bonfire, very well organised with some food and drink outlets. Bonfire and fireworks were really good.

We got married at Gisburne Park in September 2024 and stayed at Riverside House for the weekend. The wedding valley is beautifully maintained and very private. Riverside house is in an idyllic spot, next to the river, between the ceremony tipi & reception tipi and has all the amenities you could want including a hot tub. There's plenty of space for 6 people, with a large kitchen, dining room, 2 reception rooms, conservatory and outdoor seating with fire pit. The 'bridal suite' with it's large dressing area and bathroom is also pretty special. We only had a few months to plan our wedding, but Stephanie made the process much easier, and was always on-hand to answer any questions. As this was our first (and hopefully last) wedding, her advice was invaluable. We're so glad we chose Gisburne Park to get married, and couldn't wait to get back, so have booked the bonfire event in November.

What a Wedding venue and what a perfect weekend we had in May 2024! As soon as we viewed the venue in 2022, we were blown away! All I wanted was to be married next to water with lots of lights and this did not disappoint. The Estate itself is beautiful and idyllic, but the wedding valley is something else. Steph and the Betty’s Tipis team really looked after us and remained in regular contact plus we attended their wedding showcase events a few times, which we would highly recommend, but we used this as an excuse to keep visiting the venue and the team to be honest!! Steph is super organised and so knowledgeable; she brought so much calm to my wedding prep chaos. We had exclusive use of the venue from Friday to Monday so had time to relax before and after our ceremony, staying in the beautiful Riverside House, using the bridal suite plus we also booked Stables House for some of our guests. We had other guests staying on site too and everyone loved the estate. We have visited many times and intend to continue doing so for years to come. It really was the perfect setting for us, and we would highly recommend Gisburne Park to anyone looking to book their wedding. Thanks so much, Christine & Chris “The McArdles”
