We've been there a few times for an evening meal and it's a decent village pub. It's pretty, plenty of character, food served every day from a wide ranging menu and the service is very good. Never had a bad meal there. Also a good place for a drink at the bar and a great selection of beer and wine. Some of the seating areas are a little dark, but thats part of the character of the place and there's plenty of places to sit and it's not overly busy or noisy. Highly recommended.
Had a lovely meal here last night with my family. Food was gorgeous 😍 Gave 3 stars for atmosphere as there wasn’t really one as the pub was quite empty. I wanted to point out as well that while the kids meal was great for my 1 and a half year old (chicken nuggets, chips & peas) it wasn’t the best in terms of size for my 10 year old. He ordered a hot dog with chips and beans and the hot dog was tiny. Adult size meal would probably be too large for him and he would waste some so would be good to maybe have an in between kids meal for older kids who won’t necessarily eat adult sized portions. I did find the kids meals great value for money though as they included a dessert.
Sunday Lunch Four of us had Sunday Lunch at the Percy Arms recently and really enjoyed it. We would recommend it and return again. There were plenty of fresh vegetables and the meat was good quality. The service was good even though there was a very large party in at the same time. Mike was very good at accommodating special requests.
I met friends from Goole for a pre Christmas lunch. It was superb and well worth the journey from Manchester. The food was delicious and the landlord made us very welcome. I would recommend it for every occassion.
Our Sunday roast meal was very tasty, hot and on warmed plates. We had to wait over an hour and a half for it though. 20-30 mins for intial drinks. The waiting staff were really poor on customer service when taking the orders they said 'yup', no apology for the long wait or update / general pleasantry and created quite an awkward atmosphere - we wondered if there had been a falling out between them. The plates of food were thrust infront of you then everything piled up in my place setting in front if me on table clearing as if putting in the sink. Such a shame as a nice meal and lovely pub spoiled by service and delay.
