The Foutaine Inn, Linton

Our stay was fantastic. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and shown our room within minutes of walking through the door. Our room was immaculate, cosy and had everything we needed. We had supper in the snug, which was delicious. Great portion sizes, reasonably priced and the serving staff were knowledgeable and attentive, without being overbearing. After a few drinks we retired to our room and slept incredibly well. Our bed was comfy and the room was lovely and warm (it was bitterly cold outside during our visit!) Breakfast the following morning didn't disappoint either. I can't recommend the Fountaine Inn highly enough for a weekend getaway. Whether you're visiting the area to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the local area, or just to nestle down for some food and drinks, you should seriously consider the Fountaine. We visited multiple pubs on our walk and it became quickly apparent that we had lucked out and chosen the best in the area for our overnight stay.

Just had a two night stay at the Fountaine Inn and can highly recommend. Rooms are recently refurbished to a very high standard with gorgeous furnishings and finishing touches. We ate in the pub, good choice of dishes and we enjoyed what we had. Good service from all the staff. Located in a lovely area with a choice of walks from the pub doorstep, plus local attractions within easy reach.

My wife and I have just returned from our 2 night break at the lovely Fountain Inn. We have been many times before, for lunch or dinner and always loved it.This was our first time staying in one of the lovely rooms ,which was warm and cosy and spotlessly clean. The bed was the comfiest we’ve ever slept in and bedding was high quality. We look forward to coming back soon. High praise for all who work there.Thank you .Bill and Olly Whittaker.

The food and staff were mediocre. I had the Sunday roast opting for beef and pork. The meat was very tough and the roast potatoes dry. The staff were polite but not attentive. Our plates were cleared after our main course but nobody returned to see if we would like dessert or coffee despite at least three staff members stood chatting in the serving area. We eventually got fed up of waiting and left after settling the bill at the bar.

My husband and I came in for dinner, the servers were outstanding, very attentive, they asked at the end of each course if we enjoyed it, rather than in most places they ask when you’ve taken your first bite and have a mouthful of food!! We weren’t rushed and there was the perfect amount of time before the next course arrived. The food was outstanding, and you could tell that each dish was lovingly prepared and cooked to perfection, so my highest compliments to the chef, if I could’ve given the whole experience more than 5 stars then I would’ve. Perfect place and wonderful staff, I would highly recommend The Fountaine Inn.
