Honestly these guys have got it covered if fish and chips is your thing. Coming from the far south as I do the Yorkshire Fishcake was an education and a revelation. A good piece of actual fish sandwiched between two slices of potatoe and smothered in golden crispy batter. Nothing like the flat cardboard discs back home. I don't think I'll ever want to settle for less again. Added a few chips and a sprinkle of scraps and it was as near perfection as you can wrap up in a piece of paper. Also the guy serving was so personable and friendly as he prepared the fish cake fresh. It felt more like meeting an old friend than ordering a meal. This is how its done. Five stars here, but only because six was not an option.
New this place was good soon as I walked in, And could smell the beef dripping, 3 guys behind the counter all friendly, I order large fish chips and peas, Haddock my favourite, partner order jumbo sausage chips, it came to £19.95. The batter was crispy and tasty and the haddock was fresh and with great flavour, chips and the peas were spot on. Sat in the square a few yards away on a beautiful night, in lovely village, with great food, what more could I want!
Excellent Fish & Chips! Great that you can use the outdoor tables from the pub next door if you buy a drink. Chips freshly cooked, fish tender with crispy batter and mushy peas as good as my own home made ones 😋. Perfect!
We were staying local and decided to give this little place a go its quite well hidden away but 100% worth the visit if you are coming to grassington the chips were absolutely amazing the fish was gorgeous and the batter was very Crispy everything is cooked to order so a little wait however the food is defo worth that wait you can also sit outside on the pub tables and grab a cheeky pint 😊
So lucky to have this wonderful chippy on my doorstep. All cooked to order. Choice of fish. Three choices of size. Proper chips, no reconstituted potato. Light, crisp batter. All cooked to order in hot beef dripping. Cheerful atmosphere while you wait. All regulars and all visitors welcomed alike, though visitors will have to say what their orders are. Best chippy for miles!
