The spread eagle is a fantastic place to come for a quiet or lively drink. James and Emily are the most lovely hosts who really appreciate their regular drinkers. We've been coming daily for a while and are always made to feel so welcome. The decor of the pub is clean, neutral and the lighting is cosy. There are various pool, dominoes, poker, and hockey teams who bring a great community spirit. I HIGHLY recommend this pub as a great place to come with a welcoming atmosphere for both regular people and first timers. There are dart boards and a pool table too. Beer is cheap and a rage of great real ales.
Lovely stopover on our way to Brid. Sports on the telly. Lovely barstaff. Clean and refurbished toilets
The Spread Eagle is a traditional street corner community pub. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. There is a good range of beers larger and cider, including cask conditioned hand-pulled real ales. The cask ales were excellent when i called in. There is a pool table and the pub is dog friendly. Highly recommended.
A large friendly pub with several TV's showing sports. There are about 5 hand pumps available, but only 3 were active on my last visit. I tried the Great Newsome and the Wold Top, which were on good form. Certainly worth revisiting.
Literally such a brief stop (3 mins max) due to late trains, so didn't take in the pub aurroundings, but the beer was good! Made the train back btw.
