I don't always get a chance to go to the Driffield Thursday Market as I work alot of Thursdays. But when I do get the occasional Thursday off I do enjoy wandering around the stalls and shops. I've noticed that there are alot more traders on the market which is very good for the people and town in general, they are also very varied
It's not a great market there's not much there, to be honest sadly. You can get vegetables and flowers and a few more things. I wouldn't visit Driffield for the market you will be disappointed if you are looking for a good market there's no comparison its night and day difference and that's Skirlington market Hornsea Rd Skipsea it's not too far from Driffield it's 26mile by car there's a massive variety of stuff, deals, and all sorts you get a proper market feel wich sadly driffield market just doesn't have that. That's just my honest opinion. Phil
Driffield is a favourite market. At the end of the day, the fruit seller was incredibly generous. Went home with a bag so so heavy for £5. Best plums of the year. Real quality. The potatoes were perfect for mash and big enough for jackets. Off the high Street is an unmissable sweet shop. My favourite Driffield first stop for lawnmowers, same Street as the market is Roger Bentley's. He recently serviced my sit on mower and went above and beyond with his service. Local bakers offer the best of choice. Keep baking those cheese straws!!
Despite the weather, a good selection of stalls offering everything from pies, olives, fruit meat and fresh fish. Also crafts antiques and clothing. In the local cafes and pubs there is always a market day feeling and the Butcher's Dog also has live folk/Street music on a Thursday, which is the market day in Driffield.
