Wold Rangers Way 44 miles in 4 days. Well organised event from start to finish. This walk showcases the Yorkshire Wolds at their unique best. From the stunning dry valleys, the wildlife, the fascinating nods to history, to the superb big skies of the East Riding, this walk really offers so much variety. The presentation ‘ceremony’ really added the icing to the cake; we all felt like superstars and deservedly so. Thank you.
Highly recommended! Not just a walk but a great experience with like-minded people. The event was well organised with excellent communication, prior to and during the event. The coach transfers worked smoothly with some outstanding driving along the, sometimes narrow, roads. The route is well signposted, and the route maps are interesting and informative. The landscape is stunning – big open spaces with tremendous views. The red kite are always exciting to see. To be presented with a medal whilst having a cuppa and eating delicious cake after a great 4 days of walking was just a bonus. Thanks to Café Leon for looking after us all so well. And finally what of the guides? What a great trio of kind, helpful and inclusive people. The organiser, Mark, had obviously put in a lot of effort for everything to run smoothly and carried the portable defibrillator for 4 days. Barry who often led, was full of entertaining stories, jokes and one liners. Claire, the calm and compassionate back marker; ensured everyone got to the end safely.
Really enjoyable 4 days of walking with a very friendly group. Good organisation of transport each day, interesting route and lots of encouragement and information from the organisers throughout the walk. Even the hail couldn’t spoil the experience! Cafe and medal distribution was a lovely ending. Thanks to all.
Drumming Up 30/31 July 2022 An outstanding event. Well orchestrated from beginning to end. For the participants it was a case of turn up and follow commands; walk, talk, eat, be entertained; sleep; eat and walk/talk again. However the organisers deserve medals for combining logistics; sustanance, entertainment, great location with timeless precision and adaptability to weather and numbers attending. Being ex military myself I believe they performed the event like an excellent military operation. A huge thank you to name but a few goes to Mark, Sarah, Claire, Fiona, Barrie, Jonathan and Julie. Look forward to the next one.
We joined the ‘Horse Hair Jack Trod’ walk today. It was a 9 mile circular walk. It was managed by two leaders that kept the group together. The geography of the area is beautiful and the company of the walkers was great. The leaders told stories about the old rangers and it made the walk more interesting. I highly recommend this organisation.
