Once upon a time daycare

We’re really happy with the care our daughter receives at Once Upon a Time Nursery in Dronfield. The staff have been amazing, especially in accommodating her special diet due to allergies. They provide her with a tailored menu, which has given us great peace of mind.They also keep a daily diary with details of everything she eats, along with regular updates about her development and achievements. It’s so reassuring to stay informed about her day. Our daughter loves everything about the nursery from outdoor play to the soft play area, she always comes home happy. She’s made lots of friends and often talks about them at home. The nursery runs such interesting activities! Around Easter, they hatched chicks at the reception for the children to see the whole process. They also raised butterflies and released them outside, such lovely experiences for kids. The staff are always friendly and give helpful updates at pick up time. Thank you to everyone at Once Upon a Time for taking such good care of our daughter. Knowing she’s in safe, caring hands means the world to us!

We’re really happy with our son’s experience at the nursery. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, and it’s clear how much care and attention goes into everything. We especially appreciate the variety of fresh, healthy food provided every day—it’s lovely to know he’s eating well. The nursery is really well thought out, with separate areas for sleeping, playing, eating, and changing, which helps keep everything calm and organized. We also love the outdoor space—it’s great that different age groups have their own areas to explore and enjoy safely. Thank you for creating such a warm, caring environment for the children!

The nursery staff is fantastic they look after the children and the children are happy - that's the most important so 3 stars as everything else was rubbish. I would avoid as the owners are absolutely horrible, management isn't great either, had quite a few issues with them and the admin/accounts team. Prices are also sky high.

My son has been going to Once Upon a Time nursery in Dronfield since it opened 2 years ago. During his time there we have discovered that my wonderful son is autistic. I cannot even properly describe in words how incredible the staff have been with my son at Once Upon a Time. They have accepted him, adapted for him and embraced him for the wonderful individual that he is. The world is not always an easy place for kids with additional needs, so this has meant everything to us. They understand that when my son is distressed that he is not bad or naughty, but that he is really struggling in that moment and know exactly when he needs a cuddle or a quiet moment in the sensory room. Kindness is everything and this nursery has absolutely tons of it!! I cannot thank Once Upon a Time enough for making the past two years so much easier than it could have been for us and our son.

This nursery is incredible! Our son has multiple intolerances which everyday the chef caters to and cooks him amazing meals. Allowing him to sample a wide range of foods - he won’t always eat his home cooked meals but pretty much always eats all of his food at nursery 😂. The staff go above and beyond for our son and I trust them 100% with him. An unfortunate experience we had recently was when they needed to call an ambulance for him due to the wait of 2 hours and us being a little further away (believe me when I say it’s worth the travel) they took him to the hospital themselves. They told me that was part of their job but it’s not, they always act in his best interest! I will never know how to thank them enough. They teach Makaton which I think is so important for our son to communicate himself and to his peers. We get daily updates on his development and regular meetings. This nursery is literally incredible and I cannot recommend them enough. 5 stars isn’t enough
