Had a really nice family meal for 4 here. Had the Blue Cheese Burger which was absolutely gorgeous. Other family members had the Fish & Chips which they reliably informed me was delicious. Great service and a pleasure to support a local pub.
The food was average and the service could have been a lot better. There was only one person serving at lunchtime on a Friday and she didn’t really make an effort to be welcoming. We felt as if we were an inconvenience. The place could be such a success with a little more effort. Admittedly I haven’t tried going in the evening. My first experience was just after they opened for Sunday dinner. There’s a few issues that need addressing there. Maybe that is sorted now - I don’t know.
Good quality, reasonably priced pub food, friendly service. Great weeknight deals including 2 fish for £20 on a Friday (I had seabass and my friend had fish and chips)
We booked really easily online, last minute decision and, from the moment we arrived the warmth shone through. From the super helpful reception on arrival, easy parking in their large carpark, to a fantastic evening meal. Really comfortable room, lovely and warm with an abundance of coffee, tea and snacks. Breakfast! Enough for double the number we were and as with everything else, quality as was the service. Cost, very, very reasonable and the snow covered hills we came to play on, slippy slideo with lots of jovial screams and fun's. DON'T HESITATE, MAKE THE MINERS ARMS, YOUR PLACE TO STAY, EAT AND ENJOY.
Good Sunday Carvery. For 4 pm on a Sunday it was 'buzzing' which made for a pleasant experience - though busy, the service was first class. Welll done to Lisa and her team. John
