Great venue in a great park. Lots of refurb work going on at the moment but didn't stop a good experience. Food was lovely and service was friendly and helpful. Nice open space inside with lots of seating.
What a great cafe in the beautiful Graves Park! We were lucky enough to visit today, the reopening of the cafe and it was buzzing! We had coffee and cakes which were delicious! It was difficult to decide which cake to have as there was so much choice; lots of other things to eat too! The cafe is large with lots of tables and the toilets are off to one side, male, female and disabled. In addition to the seating indoors there are some picnic tables at the side of the building and also a lovely rose garden just in front where some customers were enjoying their purchases. Stagg are lovely!
Had a great lunch on a busy day between Christmas and New Year. There was a queue to order, but the food came very quickly. We were just unlucky with the queue, but it soon cleared. The side portion of fries is very generous. It's dog friendly too!
The cafe was within walking distance of where I was staying. It was a bright sunny day, good for walking. The entrance door to the cafe was puzzling, as you had to walk right around the building, then go through the rose garden to get in. I ordered a chai latte, which felt too cool. I sipped it and told the lass, who made me a new one, which was also only just warm enough. She said it was as hot as the machine can do. I chose a lemon and almond cake to have with my cuppa…it sounded very similar to Nigella Lawson’s delicious Mandarine almond cake, which I had recently made. The cake was nice but not brilliant, as I had hoped. I was a little disappointed with my visit, but shall go back and try again.
Like being back in the 70s. Desperately in need of refurbishing inside and out. Currently raising money to do this. Had a ploughmans roll ( Ham Cheese and Branston Pickle) and fries. Reasonably priced and served quickly. Whose idea was it to paint the ceiling black?
