The Handsome Hare

I recently decided to change barbers after having a buzz cut for nearly ten years. I had a great consultation with Alan, who talked me through exactly what I wanted to achieve, explained the best way to get there, and gave me clear advice on how to maintain it over the coming months. All topped off with good conversation throughout. Highly recommended.

Alan was superb, genuinely the best haircut I’ve had in my 41 years (and yes, I’m 41). He’s a top guy, and the cut was spot on. Most barbers either take it too short or throw in an unwanted skin fade, but Alan got it exactly right. It was my first visit, and I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Walked in in the off chance they had space. Was told it's by appointment only (and I can now see why! They're good and therefore busy!) but managed to get a beard trim from the apprentice - partially under guidance but largely on his own and wow! Very impressed by the apprentice's 'get at it' attitude, professionalism and the patient, clear coaching he received from the boss who clearly knows what he's doing. I've been around a few barbers in sheff and north derbyshire and this is by far the best!! Thank you! (Apologies for not getting names!)

I visited The Handsome Hare after a raccomendation. It was my son's first hair cut, his 3 and half, let's just say he was not impressed at the idea of getting his hair cut but the stylist who saw us today, Matt, was a star. He ended up cutting his hair outside to help my son settle, which did help, and we left with a tidy and much more manageable hair cut, which is all I truly wanted. After the event my son was excited about having a new hair cut and wanted to go again. Unfortunately for Matt and his colleagues we shall be going again but hopefully next time there will be a much more willing child. My 4 years old Nephew, who had his hair cut previously by them is now rocking an amazing mullet and his loving it. .............. This was our 3rd visit to The Handsome Hare today. My 3 year old had long hair, but he always hated having it washed or brushed and didn't let us tie it back for him. He was obviously bothered by it because he kept trying to brush it away with his hand. He then started chewing it. We opted for a hair cut knowing it wasn't going to be a pretty experience. My 3 year old started off having his hair cut outside the shop, whilst being less than impressed by the process on the first visit, to being okay outside having his hair cut whilst poor Matt crouched over him on the pavement on his second visit. Today, we made it into the shop! He even sat on me on the chair. Progress! And I can only thank Matt for his patience and working with us to help my 3 year old feel safe and comfortable. You shall be seeing us again, and next time we will take our youngest along too to get him used to the environment.

Tried many barbers around the area and The Handsome Hare is the best in Sheffield! I take my 2 young boys here and they always come out with the most stylish haircuts. Both Matt and Alan are very good with kids, always making us feel comfortable and doing the job quickly but efficiently, which is what you want with young children who don’t want to sit still for a long time! I like the easy booking system online and the cancellation alerts are handy because they do get booked up pretty far in advance. Love the music playlists too :)
