Excellent care from a variety of drs and health practitioners. If an appointment is genuinely needed we are offered available times to book, often on the same day if more urgent. If a repeat, un planned medication is needed, it is simply sent downstairs to the pharmacy in the same building and a message sent from the dr. Reception are helpful and the building is clean, tidy and good access with a lift if required. Really recommend and feel very fortunate to be able to access such great NHS care!
Normally I find Woodseats Medical Centre to be very good. However I had been waiting for an appointment that required a specific doctor(due to a specific medical condition)I then had to wait six weeks before being seen. There were specific reasons so, cest le vie. After that time , when I did get an appointment, I turned up on the morning only to be told that it was cancelled. To make matters worse, no reason was given..I don't know was the answer. Could have said any reason! I would have accepted it! Or, if it's sensitive, could have said, unfortunately it's confidential. I don't know, is not good enough. I don't know , but I'll find out is much better. Now I have to wait a further six days until the next available appointment. Note: I have updated this review to three stars as I have been since, twice . And been seen very quickly and treated very fairly. Also thanks to the surgery for responding to my review.
New Review: Honestly, Woodseats Medical Centre really needs to get their act together. I called up recently to request a repeat prescription for my sertraline, and the GP I spoke to was someone I’d never talked to before. He assured me he'd send the prescription over to the chemist. Fast forward a few days, and my parents went to pick it up, but the chemist said they hadn’t received anything. Nothing had been sent over. I rang Woodseats Medical Centre today to sort it out, and it turns out the doctor never actually sent the prescription at all. Honestly, it feels like this place is creating more problems than they’re solving. It's frustrating to have to chase them up for something so basic. I really hope they get it together soon, because at the moment, I’m not impressed. --------------------------- Unfortunately, it feels like the service at Woodseats Medical Centre is getting worse. I submitted a request for a repeat prescription today and heard nothing back. I waited around expecting some kind of confirmation or phone call, but by 2pm I had to call the practice myself to find out what was going on. After ringing for about 10 minutes with no hold music or queue system, someone finally answered and told me the medication had already been prescribed and sent to the chemist. The problem is I received absolutely no notification or message to say this had happened. No text, no email, nothing. This kind of communication breakdown is not just frustrating, it’s potentially dangerous. Elderly or vulnerable patients could easily be left waiting for days thinking their medication hasn't been sorted, when in fact it's sitting at the pharmacy. This system clearly isn’t working and needs serious improvement. At the very least, patients should be informed when their prescriptions are ready. Communication is essential in healthcare, and right now, it’s badly lacking. When I asked why no notification was sent, the response I received was that the practice “doesn’t have the manpower” to inform patients. Frankly, this is a poor excuse. Communication is an essential part of healthcare, not an optional extra. If the current system relies on patients chasing up their own prescriptions, then it’s simply not fit for purpose. I am considering moving to another practice that can offer a more reliable and communicative service.
We have recently moved to Woodseats medical practice and have found the staff to be very helpful and we have managed to get most of our appointments within an appropriate time frame. Any appointments we have had, the doctors and other staff have listened to us all and taken time to take a clear history and we have had the opportunity to ask any questions
Very bad experience with admin issues. Docs are great. Communication between docs and admin and surgery and pharmacists doesn’t work. Often needing to put out fires. Often being let down and things not being done with paperwork when promised and messages not getting through when they should. Regularly without meds as a result. Not a good surgery for autistics or those with a disability.
