St Luke's Abbeydale Road

Good shop to find items to buy but I found the donation process somewhat degrading and demeaning. I usually donate my items to my local Oxfam or St Lukes without any problems but I couldn't get parked so I drove to this one instead. The lady accepting donations asked what was in my bag. I said Christmas items plus lots of other things including DVDS. She said they couldn't take Christmas items (fair enough). The bag was heavy so I placed it on the ground as I described what else was in it and she just stared at me blankly looking down at me. She seemed to expect me to describe or take out each item for her inspection and approval. I found this degrading and not something a charity shop should expect people to do. I took my items to Barnados instead who were very happy and didn't expect me to describe every item for their approval. So overall, a good place to shop but I do not recommend donating here unless they train their staff to be more respectful of people donating.
