This year, although I get a free eye test at a specific optician via my work, I decided to explore all three opticians in Guiseley before buying my main pair of glasses. I get varifocals with thinned adaptive lenses. Choosing Chris Woods Eyecare was very easy – starting from the initial warm welcome into the shop. Chris does not rely on ranges of frames with celebrity endorsements, he explained he chooses based on the quality as well as style and frame choice and is confident that for a normal responsible glasses wearer, they would be able to replace the lenses and reuse the frames when it comes to their next prescription. It’s the same with the lenses; he opts for higher quality brands. Chris helped me select frames based on the styles which suited me and with a lens area which would be best for varifocals. He was very knowledgeable and provided his advice and suggestions in a relaxed manner, giving me ample time to try lots of frames. There was never any pressure, and actually I did not purchase there and then as I still had not visited all three opticians. However, in reality, there was no competition and I was soon back. I purchased Mayflower frames from Catch London in red with Hoya lenses. I got them in July and I still love them now as much as I did when I first got them. The lenses are super clear, the transition when going in and out of bright daylight is really quick and smooth, the frames are sturdy, and the fit is great. Based on the customer experience and quality of the product, I would definitely recommend Chris Woods Eyecare.

I read some of the reviews of which were very helpful for to me in making an informed choice to be come a patient, customer, the last two opticians I used had been a total let down for me. So I book an appointment over the phone which was very prompt, inside the store was very well presented, great range of glasses to suit all tastes, clean comfortable relaxing. Chris was great he greets you in a calm professional manner, very knowledgeable, great at making you feel special and listened to. The eye test was also done in the same manner as Chris, information was made clear about the procedures and scans he was very reassuring easy to communicate with and welcome questions. The whole experience was great, I’m really please I changed opticians, I’m will definitely be returning, I will strongly recommend to people that I know to go there also.

What a wonderful experience . I went to look for some new prescription sunglasses and Chris was so patient in helping me decide what suited me. I wanted them for driving and general use. truly a real gentleman, professional and easy to talk to. He got them dead right for me. I was so impressed I have been back to get some new glasses for everyday wear, driving, reading, watching TV etc. Again the whole experience was totally 1st class. An exceptional business. Do not hesitate to give him a try. I have persuaded my hubby to go there next time he needs some glasses.

I received the highest quality eye examination and overall service from Sohail and Chris. I had a niggling worry that my eye health had started to decline and was 100% reassured following the exam and scans. Their years of experience and knowledge was evident and I will most definitely return. It is a friendly, professional and relaxing environment and I would highly recommend.

What a wonderful business. Chris and his team are extremely professional and welcoming. At no point did my appointment feel rushed. More importantly I was never given the hard sell.
