The Hoptimist

The Hoptimist in Guiseley is a wonderful little spot that remains hidden to a lot of the usual visitors of the area. A Bottle/Can shop primarily, they also offer the opportunity to taste some of their offerings on tap. As they are "tasters" they come in sizes smaller than a pint but are priced accordingly and served well in custom glassware. The selection of cans and bottles is extraordinary. There are plenty of fridges full of choice and many shelves stacked with options. There is undoubtedly something for everyone, including low and non-alcoholic beers, ciders and many different styles of lagers, bitters and sours. The service is always top notch and the place itself is always well kept and cosy. During the warmer weather there is usually some outdoor seating which fills up quickly at the weekend. There are usually some bargains to be had around the counter as there are boxes of cans & bottles on offer. There is certainly something for all budgets. I highly recommend The Hoptimist to anybody looking for a different drinking experience. Still, no 5 stars from me purely and simply because it's also dog friendly. This is obviously a personal choice and I'm sure some folk would give it a 6/5 for that very reason.

Past the shop for years and never popped in. 10 mins before bus was due. Fine chioce of ales and largers. Lovely shop and owner. My the bar/counter there was a box of random beers. A blind purchase because of the picture. A Leeds beer 7% but unexpectantly a beer. Fruit smoothy. Woooooow. Fantastic. Find your own surprise😄😄

Vast selection of IPAs, Sours and beers, by independent and chain breweries. Pros: - Rotating selection of beers on tap, with indoor seating, too. - Chiller cabinets packed with all kinds of alcoholic beverages. - Locally produced spirits behind the counter. - On-street parking, but this can often be busy and hard to park, so you might need to park around the corner. I will definitely be coming back to stock up on more beers.

Small beer shop and taproom with an interesting selection of beers on tap and a solid choice of independent breweries to choose from. Very helpful, accommodating staff too

A lovely spot for a delicious cheeky drink on the way to the bus.
