A lovely place for a peaceful walk
This was my first visit to gunnerside beck and wasn't disappointed I did the circular walk approximately 7.5 miles strenuous in places all footpaths in good order taking into consideration the poor weather in recent months the route passes through old leadmining works all ruins now although some bits of equipment still remain lots of stone field barns dotted around the fields cascading waterfalls and a couple of kilns still in good order great scenery you pass through a small wooded area with primrose wild garlic and blue bells just starting to sprout I would highly recommend good sturdy walking boots there's a small cafe and pub in gunnerside for refreshments bring plenty of water highly recommend this walk
